Jack Harrison Goodall

Jack, the youngest child of Ada and Earl Goodall is my daddy. He and Mother were married at a very young age. They lived in the farm house behind Unc and Bubba's when Jim and I were born. We lived in several places on Old Murfreesboro Pike and moved to North Carolina for a few weeks. That was a big mistake. We were all very homesick. I remember that bus trip to North Carolina like it was yesterday, but I don't remember coming back home.
Daddy worked on Unc's farm for several years, but ended up working as a milk man for Johnson's Dairy. The owner of Johnson's was Daddy's former football coach, Hoyle Johnson. Daddy made many friends while he worked at Johnson's. One of the highlights I remember as a child was the family going to get a milk shake at Johnson's.
In 1960, Mother and Daddy divorced. I went to live with Mama Goodall and Papa (Ada and Earl Goodall). Jan, Deborah and Tony went to live with Mother (Dora Ann Goodall). Jim moved in with Unce and Bubba (Albert and Bertha Goodall). Joe stayed with Daddy and they too lived at Mama and Papa's. Daddy married Peggy Maynard in December 1961.
During my high school years, Daddy and Peggy moved to Goodlettsville with Joe, Ricky and Sharon. There, Daddy went to work for Albert and E at Denton's Furniture and Appliances. Ater a few years, they moved back to Lebanon to a house on Hartsville Pike. Daddy started to work for Mid WestCo. He worked there until his retirement.
Daddy and Peggy bought a place on the river in Castalian Springs. They loved being on the river, having a boat and fishing. Later, they moved to Florida, where they stayed several years. We were all happy when they decided to move back to Castalian Springs. Now, Daddy and Peggy live with Sharon and Mike Burns in Hartsville, Tennessee.
Daddy has had some health issues to deal with the last few years, but he is doing OK. He enjoys going to basketball games. They have both become Wii Bowlers and are very good. They play everyday, which I think is wonderful!
