Martha Belle was the middle child of Ada and Earl Goodall. She married C.A. Bobo, a walking horse trainer. They had three children: Charles Edward, William Earl (Bill), and Martha Purnell.
Martha Belle was affectionately known as Mot. Mot and Charlie lived in several places, but Shelbyville, Tennessee, was home.
Mot was good to visit and spend a night at home with Mama, Papa and me every-now-and-then. We always had such fun. In the winter our house was cold, especially at night. Mot and I would sleep up stairs. We would snuggle under quilts and talk for hours on end after the lights were out. My heart was broken when I got the news that she was diagnosed with liver cancer.
Mot and Charlie hosted a family reunion at the barn in Shelbyville. Most everyone in the family attended. It was the last time all the brothers and sisters were together before her death. Mot went away surrounded by her family. I still miss her so much. To me she was one of the most beautiful people on earth, inside and out.
